LADS TO LEADERS

One of the Good Samaritan projects is to collect aluminum cans for recycling. Cans will be collected the last Sunday of each month at the building starting today. All monies will be donated to the Southeastern Children’s Home.

Plaza Church of Christ is excited about our second year in the Lads to Leaders program! This year, we’ve doubled the number of youth participants, tripled the number of events offered, and quadrupled the number of adult coordinators and helpers.

Last year’s visit to the Atlanta convention was a great opportunity for our kids to let their light shine – and to be recognized for their hard work all year long. One of the keynote speakers summed up the program very well by noting that “what gets planned gets completed, what gets completed gets praised, and what gets praised gets repeated.” Our kids at Plaza certainly seem eager to repeat or to exceed last year’s work in Bible study, Christian service, song leading, and many other new and “old favorite” events.

The Lads to Leaders program is a tool Plaza Church of Christ uses to help prepare youth for service in the kingdom of God and to help develop their overall leadership potential. There are many tools available to assist families and local congregations with spiritual development. Summer camps are good, but are usually just for one week. Youth rallies and lectureships may only be for a few days. Christian universities are only for those old enough to attend. The goal of the Lads to Leaders organization is to provide churches with Bible-based, effective, year-round youth leadership training tools that can be adapted to individual congregational needs. The purpose of the Lads to Leaders organization is to help save souls by providing congregations with proven methods to train youth and increase their involvement in the work of the church.
